Initial Music Magazine Ideas

When i created my magazine I couldn't think of a name so after a while of pondering I called it
"L.L.T.M" which stands for Long Live the metal. The reason I chose this is because anyone who is into metal music no matter what age believes this to be true. Its also a play off from the classic line heard in acting "Long live the king".

When I was looking through the audience demographic, the first thing i chose to base my magazine on was age, there isn't a specific age range for my magazine because unlike tribes such as emos and scene kids metal heads tend to never stop listening to metal music, this makes the age range so broad. The second thing I looked at was gender its not sexist to say that its a fact more men listen to metal music than female but that doesn't mean this magazine will be bias to one gender based on numbers I plan on making it fair for both genders despite if the ration of 10:1 in males favour.

I looked into the type of people I'm aiming my magazine at using a website called d "UK tribes" from this I only found one group of people my magazine would best suit,
http://uktribes.com/?p=tribe&id=13

There may only be one group of people I'm aiming my magazine at but with metal heads they tend to stay metal head's for a large portion of there life where as tribes such as emo kids and chavs tend to grow out of it metal heads stay metal heads for a lot longer.

The main price for my magazine will be around £2.00 because its a relatively small sum compared with other magazines which are priced around £5.00 this means more people will turn to my magazine because its a cheaper alternative. Ive made the choice to make my magazine a weekly edition. I done this because the music world moves to fast to have a monthly edition and there would be to much content to fit in the magazine after a months time in the music world. So a weekly edition seems to suit the bill a lot more.

The magazine that will most conflict with my magazine would be the magazine "Metal Hammer" the main difference is my magazine wont feature a lot of main stream bands such as Avenge sevenfold or anything of that nature. The main focus of my magazine will be aimed at underground bands and bands that are unheard of.

The main selling point of my magazine that will set it apart from most magazines is that I will add famous and well head of bands to the front cover to attract the attention of readers as well of unknown bands to teak the readers attention so the reader becomes interested in learning about all the newest metal bands out there.
